RELiON Battery

A lithium iron phosphate maker whose golf-car product is one pack: the InSight Series GC2 48V, a 51.2 V 30 Ah box in the GC2 case that a lead-acid golf-car string is built from. It replaces six 8-volt blocks with one battery, and RELiON's own line is that it was "engineered specifically to power golf cars, utility vehicles, and AGVs". THE SAME CASE IS SOLD AT THREE VOLTAGES FOR THREE DIFFERENT MACHINES — 12 V for RVs and boats, 24 V for floor machines and pallet jacks, 48 V for golf cars — with identical dimensions, weight and energy, and the certifications track the machine rather than the box: the 12 V claims UL1973, the auxiliary-power standard, while the 24 V and 48 V claim UL2271, the light-electric-vehicle pack standard whose scope names golf cars. The 48 V forbids series connection outright and permits up to ten in parallel, which is the reverse of how a lead-acid cart is wired and the single thing most likely to be got wrong on installation. Their 48 V pack is also the subject of a CPSC recall for thermal burn and fire hazards covering three serial ranges, with a free repair still offered. RELiON also sell golf TROLLEY batteries under the RBGT name; a trolley carries clubs rather than a person and those are a different product entirely.
