What this standard covers, in our words

AN INDUSTRIAL ETHERNET NETWORKING DOCUMENT, AND NOTHING TO DO WITH BATTERIES. The IEC's own catalogue lists one publication under this number: IEC/PAS 62633:2009, a Publicly Available Specification from TC 65 (industrial-process measurement, control and automation) adding a fieldbus profile to the IEC 61784 series. A PAS is not a standard, this one is marked Replaced, and the IEC name IEC 61784-2:2010 and five other documents as its replacements. It specifies no test, no cell, no pack and no safety requirement of any kind. It appears in this catalogue only because a battery datasheet lists it under Certifications.
