UL 2580
Standard for Batteries for Use In Electric Vehicles
Published by UL Solutions

What this standard covers, in our words
Covers the safety of electrical energy storage assemblies for electric vehicles, evaluating the pack's ability to withstand abuse conditions. Distinct from UL 2271, which covers light-electric-vehicle packs — neither implies the other, and UL 1973 directs traction batteries to these two rather than covering them itself.
This is our summary, not the standard’s own wording — UL Solutions publish the text itself and it is the document to read before relying on anything here.
This standard is an independent claim about the products listed below — holding this certification does not imply compliance with any other standard.
