The international TRANSPORT test series a lithium battery must pass to be shipped by air, sea or road — altitude simulation, thermal cycling, vibration, shock, external short circuit, impact/crush, overcharge and forced discharge. It establishes that a cell or pack is safe to TRANSPORT. It says nothing about whether the battery is safe in use, and it implies no product or vehicle standard. Makers list it beside safety certifications constantly.
