Allied Battery

A Missouri lithium maker whose golf-cart range comes in two halves, sold from two separate shops. The "Commercial" packs are single big-bank boxes at 38.4 V, 51.2 V and 76.8 V, up to 168 Ah, and go no more than two in parallel. The "Drop-In-Ready" modules are 36 Ah and 18 Ah units the size of the lead-acid blocks they replace, bought in sets of two to eight and wired in parallel — a different warranty, a different storefront and a different way of sizing. What separates Allied from most golf-cart battery makers is that they publish a sizing guide, and it answers by the CART rather than by the pack: economy, modified or highly modified, set by passenger count, controller rating, lift and terrain. It is also where they rule one of their own packs out — the 48 V 105 Ah is marked "Unqualified" for a highly modified cart, where both 168 Ah packs are not. Their documents are unusually complete and do not always agree: seven datasheets, four warranty regimes, and a certifications page that names four management-system standards and no product safety standard at all.
