The serial number is located underneath the seat, on the frame of the unit. Yamaha will provide assistance if you can't locate the serial number. Hazard: The recalled golf cars' passenger-side brake cable could have been misrouted during assembly. If the cable was misrouted, abnormal wear can occur which can cause the passenger-side cable to break during use, posing a risk of serious injury or death from a crash hazard.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled fleet golf cars immediately and contact an authorized Yamaha Golf Car dealer to schedule a free inspection of the passenger-side brake cable routing. If the cable was misrouted, the dealer will replace the cable with a new, properly routed cable. For consumers who cannot take the recalled golf car to an authorized dealer, a Yamaha dealer will provide transportation of the golf car or will inspect and, if necessary, install a new, properly routed cable at the location of the golf car.

Hazard: The affected golf cars present a risk of injuries as the cable brake is incorrectly routed meaning there is a sharp bend which creates a stress point. As a result, the cable brake could fail unexpectedly whilst in use and the user may not be able to stop the vehicle as intended. The affected products do not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.

Hazard: If the spring breaks, the accelerator pedal will not return to the home position when released. The car might not slow down without use of the brakes.

Remedy: Consumers should contact their nearest Yamaha Dealer to set up an appointment to have this repair procedure performed. Yamaha dealers will replace the accelerator pedal return spring with a new stronger type of spring, free of charge Yamaha recommends that you do not drive your affected golf car until this modification is performed. Remedy: Yamaha will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the fuse for the USB accessory ports. If incorrect, it will be replaced with the proper 1-A fuse. Note: Owners are advised to not use either USB accessory port until the recall repairs are completed.

This could cause the cables to weaken over time and potentially break. If a brake cable were to break during operation, the vehicle would have limited stopping ability, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
